The Haigh Pipeliner™ range provides a reliable, straightforward, system for disintegration, maceration or conditioning of solids in flow.
The Haigh Pipeliner™ is designed to fit onto the suction line of a pump used for raw sewage or sludge, homogenising the medium to improve downstream process, whilst protecting high performance pumps from rag debris. It is a disintegrating device for mediums of up to 6% solid matter in a pipeline under operating conditions ranging from – 1 bar to + 4 bar.
System design
The device incorporates a conditioning cutter head specifically designed to handle raw sewage and sludge. The cutters consist of a steel headstock with tungsten carbide wear blades rotating against a stationary alloy steel shear plate with a hardness of 50-55 Rockwell. The size of the holes in the shear plate may be specified to suit the application. An external method of pumping is required.
Positive cut
The highly effective cutting action gives controlled particle size, and eliminates the tendency of shredded solids to reform. The strong agitation experienced is ideal for delivering homogeneous waste in suspension.
Ease of maintenance
The design of the Pipeliner™ allows the easy removal of the cutting elements without disrupting the surrounding pipework. A standby cutter cartridge assembly can be economically purchased to avoid the cost of an entire second machine. The seal rotates in an oil bath to ensure adequate cooling and lubrication, with sealing rings of tungsten carbide. The cutters can be replaced in minutes, with perfect alignment, without disturbing the mechanical seal. Only two Allen keys are required to achieve this.
Capability
Dependent on the application requirements, the Pipeliner™ can be used for flows up to 360 m3/hr.
