This configuration of the Vaughan Pump allows for a maximum suction lift of 7.0 metres (24 feet). The pump is mounted in a robust ductile iron casing, enabling effective self-priming.
There is an access panel in the casing to allow easy internal inspection of the pump inlet. This also gives access to allow removal of any stones or heavy objects that may accumulate in front of the inlet. The pump also has a mechanism to allow for external adjustment of critical clearances of the main chopping elements.
For sumps or tanks which are situated below ground level, a self-priming Vaughan Chopper Pump can be mounted at ground level. It offers reliable pumping of waste water or sewage which contains a significant rag load which would block a less capable pump.
This Vaughan pump format has been used very successfully for Rotamix tank mixing applications when the tank is below ground level, and also in applications as a dedicated grit pump.
