This pump format keeps the electric motor and the wiring out of the sump or pit. It is suitable for quick installation, and pipework connection is very accessible. It is completely surface-mounted, so there is no support structure required in the sump. As the pump is submersed in the wet well no suction piping is required.
The casing and bearing housing are manufactured from ductile iron, giving maximum durability. The bearing housing is oil-filled for high reliability, and an oil-level sensor can be incorporated into the control if required. There is also a double row of thrust bearings to absorb all impeller loads.
This is an alternative to the submersible pump, particularly for shallow wells, and is the most popular format used in North America.
This pump is also available as a recirculator model for conditioning the sump contents, as detailed elsewhere.
